nScope Screen Shots

nScope is an innovative tool for network monitoring and presentation. It creates a continuously updated, interactive 3D view of network topology to provide a global perspective. The following image shows a hierarchical network display with networks (top), segments (middle), and devices (bottom):


Distributed, performance-monitoring agents are used to dynamically animate nScope's display. Color and size changes reflect changes in device performance or status:


nScope is designed to handle large networks and to enable you to see entire corporate intranets at a single glance. For example, here is a network containing several thousand devices and interfaces:


In addition to network presentation, nScope is ideally suited for network monitoring. NASA's DarwinNet managers use nScope to visualize network access: traceroute of user login (below left) and user process statistics (below right):


nScope is also an efficient way to track resource usage. For example, the MPEG4 Consortium uses nScope to monitor the performance and quality of service of its MPEG4 distribution system: server side up-link route (below left) and close-up of two video clients (below right):
